The total number of sounds in V1.4 has been expanded from earlier versions. Users have noted that earlier versions contained around 7–8 sounds, while V1.4 includes at least 16 distinct sounds or sound categories. This expansion makes the library much more versatile and usable across a wide range of musical projects.
Version 1.4 drops support for 32-bit DAWs and Windows 8. Older users can remain on V1.2, but they miss the GSL and convolution reverb. Porciúncula’s goal was to democratize that sound
By leveraging this foundation, Synthage V1.4 brings a slice of this professional-grade hardware into the affordable software domain. For the average listener, the difference in sonic character between the original Montage and this sampled version becomes nearly indistinguishable, offering a high-end sound for a fraction of the price of the original hardware. The library captures the essence of the Montage’s eight-element, dual-structure architecture, albeit through the lens of sampled articulations.
